Flying with a drone on connections & codeshares

How to check multiple operating airlines and handle conflicting drone-placement or battery rules.

Use the operating carrier. A ticket can be sold by one airline while the aircraft is operated by another. Battery and baggage handling can follow the operating carrier's rules.

Check every segment

If your itinerary uses multiple carriers, one permissive policy does not cancel a stricter one. The live checker highlights the strictest battery ceiling and spare-battery cap across the selected airlines.

Drone-body placement is not always “strictest wins”

One carrier may require the drone in cabin baggage while another prefers or requires checked carriage. The tool therefore shows the placement rule for each segment instead of pretending there is always one universal bag that works unchanged from origin to destination.

Plan for transfer reality

If baggage is through-checked, you may not be able to repack the drone between segments. If the airline rules conflict, contact the carriers before travel and ask how the transfer will be handled.

Keep evidence accessible

Use the share/print travel card and keep the official source links available offline or as screenshots before you travel.
