Prepare these details
- Battery manufacturer and exact model.
- Wh rating printed on the pack.
- Battery chemistry (usually Li-ion or LiPo).
- How many installed and spare batteries you will carry.
- Your route and flight numbers.
- Whether the drone itself will be cabin or checked baggage.
What approval does not override
Approval for a 100–160 Wh battery does not mean you can ignore baggage placement, spare-battery limits, destination import rules, damaged-battery restrictions or airport-security decisions.
Airlines can simply say no
Ryanair's published drone policy, for example, sets a 100 Wh maximum for drone batteries rather than offering the 100–160 Wh approval path.
